Set up Clamav for Xeams

Set up Clamav for Xeams

Introduction

Clamav helps your Xeams to scan inbound and outbound e-mails for virusses, trojans and malware.

I’ve seen it in action on my own Xeams servers and really stops the bad mails from getting through!

How To

  1. Install the Clamav files
    sudo apt-get install clamav clamav-base clamav-daemon clamav-freshclam
  2. Reconfigure the Clamav setup to open the config set up
    sudo dpkg-reconfigure clamav-daemon
  3. TCP instead of UNIX
  4. Your port of choice: 3310
  5. Your IP you wish to let the daemon listen on
  6. Follow the remaining steps …
  7. Set up your Clamav settings in Xeams
  8. Test and bingo
